The Latest from the Campaign
Muriel Bowser Rallies Her SupportersMuriel Bowser kicked off her Election Day effort the same way she started her victorious primary day: in a dark Navy Yard parking lot at 5:30 am, to the tune of Alicia Keys' "Girl on Fire."
The right kind of leadership for D.C.Council member Muriel Bowser (D-Ward 4), whom we have endorsed, has demonstrated by her experience on the council, her conduct during a long campaign and her aspirations for the next four years that she has the skills and sensibilities to tackle both known and unknown difficulties. Typical of her pragmatic approach to governing was her success in winning council consensus for an overhaul of ethics laws that, as municipal ethics expert Robert Wechsler recently told The Post’s Mike DeBonis, “basically put D.C. from having no effective program to having one of the better ones.”
Muriel Bowser: The right leader for right nowNot only does Bowser understand the issues, she is pragmatic and thoughtful in her approach to solutions. Upon learning about the heavy financial burden that many parents and caregivers face with transporting their children to and from school, Bowser crafted a bill to help ensure money would not be a barrier for us regarding our kids’ education. While some try to downplay this important and necessary piece of legislation, for regular folks like us, it is a big deal.
